Turn this person into your mentor. Think of the powerful characteristics that you like and admire in them. Write a list of these characteristics. Now decide that these traits can and will be yours as well.

  • Do I truly respect myself in all areas of life? Are there areas in my life that I am not showing respect for myself? Which steps do I think I should take to love and respect myself more?

At this stage we are still gaining awareness. This is the very first stage toward any progress. There is nothing to do except to become more insightful of your actions.

  • What is pushing me to achieve my dreams?
  • Is it because I think I am not good enough as I am right now, or perhaps I think I am better than others?
  • Or is it because I have this will inside of me that must come forth and show itself to the world even if I never gain any personal benefit from it?

When the last choice was your honest answer, then you have renounced your ego and are on track to leading the life of your dreams full of meaning and purpose.

So, to end this lesson and to help you master your words, the questions that you want to ask yourself today are:

  • Which thoughts does my mind entertain most of the day?
  • Which words do I often speak about myself and my state to others?
  • Which words do I most often use when I talk about others?
  • What am I creating with the thoughts and words that I choose to entertain in my mind and my life?

Are your thoughts and words positive or negative? If they’re mostly negative, ask yourself:

  • Am I willing to work on replacing these negative thoughts and words immediately as they come towards positive ones instead?
  • How can I change these thoughts and words to reflect what I want to have in my life?

If you are not in a state of bliss most waking hours of your life, you have negative thought patterns.
